How others have benefited
As in the case in many other blocks, demand for Sky TV is high among residents. But in the absence of a communal TV system, some residents decide to put up their own minidishes so they could receive it.
The objective was to meet all resident's demands for Sky TV and provided the option to get Sky TV if they wanted it without the need to put up individual minidishes.
With a specialist Sky installer it was arranged for all 7 blocks to get Sky Shared Dish. No fewer than 28 residents have now subscribed to Sky TV, and existing Sky TV customers are continuing to receive all of Sky's great benefits via the communal system. Now residents can decide if they like to take Sky+ and Sky+HD through a single shared satellite dish.
Your Questions
- Is the Shared Dish really free?
In most cases, Shared Dish and standard installation are free (subject to survey). This is when at least 4 flats in the Block register for Sky TV and the Block is up to 3 storeys high. - What do I have to do to get a Shared Dish?
Simply register your properties for a Shared Dish and leave the rest to us. - Do current subscribers count towards the 4 required to register?
No. you need 4 residents new to Sky TV to register in order to qualify for a free survey and free installation. - Who owns the Shared Dish and what happens if there's a problem with it?
Sky owns the dish and all equipment supplied by Sky comes with a 1 year warranty. In the unlikely event of a problem, simply contact your specialist installer who will work to resolve it. - What does the Shared Dish look like?
There is a choice of cable colours for the outside of your block - black, brown and white. The survey will suggest the route and colours of the cables runs. Where possible we'll ensure that all cables are discreetly located - e.g. by hiding them behind drain pips and grouping them together. The dish is just 78cm in diameter and can be located discreetly alongside its own cabinet.
